La Dogana

La Dogana is an historical estate with 32 hectares of garden and 4.000 ancient olive trees that shape its borders and produce organic olive oil every year.

Being one of the Italian custom houses, the venue is located at the border between Tuscany and Umbria overlooking the Trasimeno lake and its islands.

Guests Accommodation

The estate can accommodate up to 70 guests (including living-room staying option) in a total of 19 apartments divided between: the Lake House, the Farm House, the Coach house (bride and groom suite) and the Woodcutter’s House. Every apartment includes by a living-room, kitchenette, bathroom and one or two bedrooms all meticulously decorated with antique forniture and a country chic touch.

For your Wedding Reception

La Dogana Restaurant and our Executive Chef offer a luxury catering for your wedding reception and different options for your welcome nights.

Our chef’s philosophy follow the traditional recipes with a luxury touch. All our pasta and bread is homemade fresh each day and all ingredients are carefully selected by Stefano our great chef.

For your wedding ceremony & dinner

The estate offers a choice of different outdoor options for both symbolic ceremonies and wedding receptions with two additional areas (depending on the size of the wedding) available in case of rain.

The garden has the typical Umbrian green all over the property and a designed Tuscan Italian garden on top of the hill next to the swimming pool. The lake is visible almost in all areas of the estate and can be seen from most apartments.

Owner & Founder

I am lucky to have inherited this fantastic estate which has been in my family for generations. It was my great grandmother who made her money from being a successful scientist who originally bought La Dogana and developed her entrepreneurial vision of creating an agricultural business.

I continue the line of female entrepreneurs of my family and after university I decided to return to the family Estate and develop it further into family holiday apartments and a wedding venue.

I love the countryside and my animals and each year I adopt more furry friends who need a home! I love welcoming guests and making them feel that la Dogana is their Italian home and become part of its history.

Michelle Jacob Rutigliano
Founder & Wedding Planner

Michelle is the German part of Sayesamore. She loves to meet people, whether private or professional. Her sensitivity to the needs of others quickly puts situations on the right path. She works in a structured way and is a fan of perfection, which has helped her a lot as a wedding planner in recent years. Most of all, she loves her family, Italian food and after a successful day to be proud of her work.

Your favorite moments on the wedding day are the arrival of the bride (goosebumps feeling) and the speeches of the guests, especially the fathers (there is already a tear flowing) …
